In the 17 th and 18 th century, slavery began along the West African coast and the Jump the broom tradition was taken with the slaves to the Americas where jumping over the broom became part of the wedding ceremony. The first one over the broom would be the “boss” in the marriage. Today, in America, the tradition continues and minature brooms are given as gifts to guests. This is our tribute and mark of respect to . The Concept A one stop shop to produce South African bridal and evening wear both and traditional cultural outfits for both male and female. To provide a retail environment for young South African designers to have a chance to be self employed, independent and successful in their careers. The idea has overflowed into table décor, invitations and wedding planning.
